“…and the evening was so beautiful, that it made a pain in my heart, as when you cannot tell wether you are happy or sad; and I thought that if I could have a wish, it would be that nothing would ever change, and we would stay that way forever.” ― Margaret Atwood
Hey Lovely Mama YOU —
Last night, when I had 20 WHOLE minutes of a quiet house to myself with nothing to DO, at first I found myself doing dishes, cleaning up the kitchen, putting leftovers away.
And then I remembered … this month inside the Abundant Mama Peace Circle we are focused on saying yes to evening bliss.
So I marched myself up to my bedroom, changed into some soft, comfortable clothes made perfectly for a quiet few minutes to one’s self.
And then I took time for myself. It was just 20 minutes but it was the ultimate moment of rest and rejuvenation … and brought extreme delight into my life.
I wasn’t doing the dishes.
I wasn’t worried about the leftovers (OK, maybe that crossed my mind a bit but it was ONLY 20 minutes.).
I was focused on evening bliss.
And it was blissful.
It’s not easy to find 20 minutes.
There is absolutely a lot on our plates. Too much most of the time.
But when we make time and space for ourselves, we really do show up in our lives with more patience, more energy, more love in our hearts and more joy in lives.
Don’t waste your time on dishes or sweeping. Or dusting and mopping. Don’t waste it on paying bills or checking emails from your boss.
That’s all fine and good — for the right time in your life.
But what you need is a moment to yourself — whether it’s 5 minutes or 5 hours — and you have to know HOW to seize the moment.
It’s a beautiful thing when you finally have more energy for your family — and your marriage.
It’s a total win for all.
