“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”  ― Allen Saunders

I know you’re in bed thinking about everything that needs done today, everything you’d like to do to today, everything you didn’t get to yesterday.

I know you’re eating breakfast thinking about how the counters are a mess and the stove needs cleaned.

I know you’re reading the pages of the Internet thinking why can’t I make that, do that, cook that, wear that, be like that … look like that.

I know you’re outside saying ready, set, go … or counting to 20 for a game of hide and seek and all you can think about is that you have to go in and start dinner before the meltdowns begin.

I know you’re thinking about yesterday and tomorrow and next week and even next year. That is your job as the CEO of Little People and as a Human Being striving to be something in this world — working hard to carve out your space on this earth.

But while you’re busy thinking about all of that you’re also forgetting one tiny, important detail.

This is your life.

This moment you’re in is your life.

This moment is what you need to do right now.

All you have to do is open your eyes, wake up to what is in front of you and pay attention.

Daily Photos

{Project 52: Stay Awake} This week, your challenge is to be Awesomely Awake: Focus on each moment in your day. A pile of laundry. A sink of dishes. Your breakfast. A hug. That family activity you are enjoying. Just live life and stay awake for it. Let the rest just happen. I know, easier said than done but this is a challenge meant to stretch you in new ways … to see the beauty in the ordinary.

To wake you up.

Photo Tip by Beryl — Don’t overthink the ordinary.  Capture the interesting colors and textures that fill your world and make up your life. Capture that mess of toys littering your family room floor, the puffy white clouds in the sky on your morning walk, your feet firmly planted to the ground. Stop, look, and snap.
