You are not alone.

When you are up in the middle of the night with worries greater than their worth, you are not alone.

As you repeat everything you just said yesterday and the day before that and the day before that, you are not alone.

When you wake up tired and wondering which way the day will go, you are not alone.

As you rush your family out the door and you suddenly feel the need for a nap and it’s only 8 a.m. you are not alone.

When you stand in the kitchen eating chocolate in front of the sink in secrecy, you are not alone.

As you caress their feverish heads or rub their tired backs as they vomit, you are not alone.

When you cry on your bed because of the immense stress that just went down, you are not alone.

As you laugh yourself silly over the most ridiculous things, you are not alone.

When you smile for no reason, you are not alone.

As you straighten up for the 10th time in two days, you are not alone.

When you lose your anger and fly into a fit of rage, you are not alone.

As you write your long to-do list and wonder how it will all get done, you are not alone.

Motherhood can feel like the loneliest job in the world.

And yet we’re all doing it, day after day.

Let go of those feelings of being the only one today.

You’re not.

You never have been.

Do you ever feel lonely? Like you’re the only one? Tell me about it.
