The present moment is tears.

Another mistake that resulted in hurt feelings.

The present moment is anger.

Innocent mistakes turned into mountains.

She loves her teacher more than me.

The present moment is loneliness.

Never fitting in, never feeling home.

The present moment is grief.

For those who will never be what I need them to be.

The present moment is frustration.

Another argument. Another fight. Another door slam.

The present moment is regret.

For saying or not saying what’s on my heart.

The present moment is cluttered.

A happy kitchen with messy dishes and leftovers lingering.

The present moment is preparing.

Getting ready for the week; never ready enough.

The present moment is quiet.

Everyone’s off playing nicely for once.

The present moment is filled with hope.

That hard days like this one, like these last few, will pass as they always do.

The present moment is filled with excitement.

For that one thing that has my heart dancing and smiling and twirling.

The present moment is always what it needs to be.

Perfect in so many imperfect ways. Beautiful. Tumultuous. Never wrong. Never quite right.

It is all that it can ever be.
