Dear Mama in the Trenches.

I see you there.

Digging deep within yourself to do what is needed.

Survival mode, yes.

But it’s more than that … it’s pure love. Love for what is needed and desired by those little people and humans that rely on you, your energy, your joy, your confidence to help them get through the ups and downs of daily life and growing up and living.

I see you holding hands, brushing hair, wiping tears. I hear you saying it will be alright, everything will be OK, hush little baby.

And I know you feel overwhelmed. Scattered. Like you’re running in circles.

I see you in the trenches of motherhood, of raising a family, of meeting the deadlines and paying the bills and pinching every penny for the new shoes, the cup of coffee, the fresh fruit, a needed coat.

But I also trust that you are exactly where you need to be in this very moment of time, the one that brings you to this place — reading these words — for a minute of peace, a deep breath, a moment to GROUND yourself deep into the earth below you.

And I trust that these words bring you comfort and ease and peace when you need it most.

So breathe …

Breathe and trust that when you take time to tend to yourself, your inner world, your inner longings, your inner needs, you are doing right by those you love most of all.

No guilt.

Pure necessity.

Because when you’re in the trenches and all you can see are walls rising up all around you and you’re feeling suffocated by ALL THE THINGS … you need to remember that the only way out is through you, your joy, your peace and your positive energy.

So rise up … rise up and be the light you need to be today.
