Every week for this year, I am offering a mindful challenge designed to get you practicing living a more awakened  life. This is Week 33 of 52 of {Project 52} Stay Awake. You are welcome to join in anytime during this year-long mindful living photo project. Please upload your photos to our Project 52: Stay Awake Flickr group so we can see what an Awake life means for you.

This time of year, as our children all go back to school, it can be a much more serious time at home. More schedules to follow. More routines. And, of course, all that homework and rule-following.

But, it can be equally as important to remember to be playful.

This is what I strive to get across in my book and it’s what over 100 mamas learned in The Playful Family Adventure e-course this June and July.

And, it’s an element in the upcoming Abundant Mama Project and the brand new Peace Circle, too.

Because I do know for a fact that when I’m feeling more at ease and playful, I’m a better mama and my children are happier, too.

And when we’re all happy that’s when I feel like I am living an abundant life.

Be playful. Be silly. Have fun. Enjoy life. Smile more. Laugh more.

This is the ultimate staying awake tip.

What playful thing will you do this week that totally surprises your family — and yourself?

Photo Tip from Beryl — To tap into your playful side, let’s think about what it is you LOVED doing as a little kid. Art projects? Finger puppets shows? Hiking and exploring through the neighborhood creek?  Zooming around town like the superhero you are? Find a way to capture THAT this week and watch as your playful nature shines through.
