Yes, you can eat a cookie before school.

Go ahead.

Yes, yes, yes.

One of my absolute favorite sections of my book The Playful Family is the section on saying yes.

Which is really more about The Nos of Parenting we get caught up in.

In fact, the book gives several good questions to ask yourself when you are saying no too much but want to say yes.

You know that feeling? Have you ever counted the nos you’ve uttered? It’s enlightening.

Just say yes. #Justsayyes

I have found that saying yes more often leaves me feeling more relaxed and awake as a parent.

Project 52: Stay Awake — This week, Week 8, let’s say YES. Make one of your days this week a Yes day. Take a photo of anything you say yes to even if it’s something just for you, or for your kids or in life, in general. Have fun with it.

beryl aynPhoto Tip from Beryl: Saying ‘yes’ can bring more fun, joy, and brightness to your day. Why not give your photo a pop of color using a photo editor after it’s taken. My favorite phone app for this is Instagram, but on the computer PicMonkey’s filters (http://www.picmonkey.com) will get the job done.
