Project 52 Stay Awake Week 9 Try Something New

This is Week 9 of {Project 52} Stay Awake. You are welcome to join in anytime during this year-long mindful living photo project. please upload your photos to our Project 52: Stay Awake Flickr group so we can see what an Awake life means for you. And, if you also use Instagram please use the hashtag #awakeproject13.

I’m sure it’s happened to you, too.

You’re traveling the same path you always travel. You could drive it in your sleep. Or walk it with your eyes closed.Try Something New

Routines are good for many things.

But, too much routine can actually keep us in a very comfortable, safe place that allows us to confidently sleep through life.

Doing new things, challenging ourselves and branching out to live a little are not always the most obvious choice we need to make but they are really, really good for staying awake.

This week, your Project 52 challenge is to try something new. It could be anything. A new road to travel. Sign up for a new e-course. Read something you’ve never read before. Eat a new food or go to a new restaurant. Spice things up. See what happens.

beryl aynPhoto Tip from Beryl: How can you bring something different to your photos this week? Go to a new location, try a new technique, or simply change your perspective. Try tilting the lens, off centering your shot, or laying on the ground for a kid’s view of the world. Whatever it is you try, make it something you don’t usually do.

Question of the Day — What would you like to try new today?
