And, if you also use Instagram please use the hashtag #awakeproject13.

Over in The Abundant Mama village, we ended our 5-weeks talking a lot about savoring. It’s a good word, really. It’s a good mindful exercise. And it’s a good way to stay awake during the routine moments of our day.

So, savor.

Savor the way the chocolate hits your tongue and the way the sun lights up the trees.DSCF6063

Savor the way the coffee smell drifts through the kitchen and the way you light up when you see your child’s bed head.

Savor the way your bare feet slide on the cool floors and the way the blankets feel as you wrap them around you.

Savor the way he looks at you and the way the two of you dance around each other in perfect harmony.

Savor the day’s work not as chores but as nesting and the way it all makes you feel when it’s done.

Savor the taste of sweet carrots or juicy apples or crisp lettuce and the way it makes your body feel to eat it.

Savor the look of need in her eyes and the fact that you are still oh so needed.

Savor the bright moon and the magical stars and the mysteriousness of the darkness from your window before you sleep.

Savor it all.

Every bit of it.

Photo Tip from Beryl – What are you savoring this week? Is it the delicious meal you just shared with your family? The little bit of ‘me time’ you relished in with a mani/pedi? A nature hike with your kids? Cement the vision of what you’re savoring in your mind,  then capture that in your photos.  I guarantee you’ll feel a sense of peace every time you visit those images.
